Installing a Hot Tub in Your Home

It is finally fall in the Valley. Something many of us have been waiting for all summer long. But now that the cooler temps are here, we are looking for ways to warm up. Perhaps a hot tub is in your future?

Before you think of investing in a place to relax, de-stress and warm up from your day, you should consider calling an electrician to help with the hook-up. It’s easy to purchase a hot tub, but more difficult to hook one up safely. This is not a do-it-yourself job, and a licensed electrician is the best way to install the hot tub, so it is safe and up to code. Arizona Energy Pros will handle all the project details for you from the moment your hot tub arrives at your home.

Mike and AliDetermining Costs

How much a hot tub installation will cost depends on various factors that we can assist with during our free estimate process. Some things to consider are:

  1. What type of hot tub you invested in? Hot tubs come in many shapes and sizes, knowing what type helps us determine exactly how much electricity the new device will require.
  2. How far the panel is from the desired location of the hot tub? This helps us determine the number of materials and labor needed for the installation.
  3. What does the landscape consist of in the area? This helps us determine if underground trenching will be required for the installation.
  4. Is anything blocking the path, like trees or a pool? We may have to get creative and figure out the best way to run the wiring.

Planning the Project

Many hot tubs require a hardwired connection that will run to the house. To keep your yard looking nice, and to make things safe, we will determine if a trench needs to be dug or if there is a way to avoid that part of the job. If a trench is required, we can handle that too! We then will figure out the type of hot tub connection that is needed and plan out the location of the wires, conduit, and placement of the disconnect, to make sure everything is up to code.

The Install

If a trench was required, when the trench has been dug our electrician(s) will return to complete the remaining electrical work. If no trench was required, our electrician(s) will mount the hot tub disconnect, install the wiring and conduit and run the wires from the panel to the hot tub disconnect system. Sometimes additional minor digging is required, and we will handle that work to keep the job moving.

Testing and Clean Up

When the system is all set up, we will test the electrical connections to assure that everything has been placed properly and that there are no ground faults. When we are satisfied with the work, we will make sure to leave your home as we found it, cleaning up after ourselves.
